The Talvijärvi transfer lift, which usually opens in mid-December, is located only about 500 meters away, providing convenient access to the Ruka slopes. The village of Ruka is a short walk, about 1.2 kilometers. The ski trails start right at the lake shore, and there is also a dog run on the lake, making it a perfect place for winter vacationers.
