Lift-assisted sledding is available on the Äkäslompolo side of the Ylläs ski resort area. This activity offers an exciting yet safe downhill ride on a dedicated sledding course — perfect for thrill-seekers alike. No skiing skills are needed!


The sledding track is located on the 480-meter-long "Perherinne 2" slope, which is reserved and specially modified just for sledding.


Participants ride up the slope using a ski lift and then sled down using a specially designed sled equipped with a steering wheel and brakes. It's a fun and slightly thrilling experience for first-timers and speed lovers alike – with no need to climb uphill. The dedicated track, lift access, and controlled equipment make the experience safe and effortless.


Where to start

The activity always begins on the Äkäslompolo side at the Y1 service center, where you:


- purchase your Sled Rental Ticket

- receive a helmet

- get instructions on how to safely enjoy the activity


Important information

- For safety reasons, the rider must be at least 140 cm tall or 12 years old

- Ticket prices are the same for everyone, regardless of whether you bring your own helmet or have a valid lift pass

- Sledding is only allowed on the designated track using rental sleds only

- The lift ticket included with the rental only works at the Family Lift (Perhehissi)

- General sledding with personal sleds and toboggans is available at the children’s area near the Tenavahissi lower station
