Ice Swimming Sprint – Avantoralli Event

Ice Swimming Sprint – Avantoralli is an annual ice swimming and sauna event held in Salo each February, inviting both first-time visitors and experienced winter swimmers to enjoy a refreshing winter wellness experience. The event combines icy water and warm saunas into a unique way to experience the Finnish winter.

During Ice Swimming Sprint – Avantoralli, several ice swimming locations with saunas are available across Salo. Participants can swim in a variety of natural settings, including rivers, lakes, the sea, ponds, and springs. A dedicated event map helps visitors plan their own sauna route and move easily between locations.

The event encourages exploration and an active approach to winter wellness, inviting participants to visit multiple locations and find their own rhythm. All that is needed is a swimsuit and a towel, while a warm hat and ice swimming shoes or wool socks are recommended for comfort.

At its core, Ice Swimming Sprint – Avantoralli focuses on the refreshing and wellbeing-enhancing effects of cold-water swimming. In addition to sauna bathing and ice swimming, the program may include other wellness-related activities such as relaxation sessions or gentle movement. The event offers a welcoming and accessible opportunity to try ice swimming in a safe and relaxed atmosphere.

Ice Swimming Sprint – Avantoralli is suitable for both day visitors and weekend travellers and forms part of Salo’s winter experience offering, combining nature, wellbeing, and Finnish sauna culture.
