Linnakallio is a place where hurry comes to a halt and nature embraces you. It is grounded in authenticity. In the heart of Linnakallio, the traditional smoke sauna invites you to connect with the roots of Finnish sauna culture.

The sauna at Linnakallio is heated slowly over several hours, allowing the smoke to fill the room and gently warm the large stone stove. After heating, the smoke is let out. What remains is soft, deep, long-lasting steam (“löyly”) that feels smooth and relaxing.

Just a few steps from the sauna, a clear forest pond awaits. Swimming in the cool, natural water is both refreshing and calming, and a natural part of the sauna rhythm. In winter, the experience becomes unforgettable: even a brief dip in the icy pond leaves you feeling awake and energized.

Next to the sauna building, a large wooden terrace offers space to cool down while listening to the nature sounds between sauna rounds.

The visit is guided and hosted by a local sauna guide. During winter time, she can gently guide you in experiencing the traditional cold dip.

There are separate dressing rooms for men and women, while the sauna itself and the outdoor cooling areas are shared. Swimwear is required. Instead of showers, a small amount of washing water is provided, but swimming in the forest pond is the primary way to cool off and rinse between and after sauna rounds. There is an outdoor toilet (Finnish “huussi”) available near the sauna area.

After the sauna, a typical Finnish sauna snack grilled sausage and warm juice is available by a close-by kota or laavu. There, by open fire, your visit to the Finnish roots is completed.

The price includes the private sauna use, guiding, introduction to the cold dip (in winter), towels and non-alcoholic sauna drinks as well as snacks by the fire.
