Linnakallio’s smoke sauna offers a timeless Finnish sauna experience in the heart of nature, surrounded by a private forest area. Our sauna is located directly by a forest pond, which is accessible year-round and forms an essential part of the sauna ritual. This sauna experience invites your group to slow down and connect with the roots of Finnish sauna culture.

The sauna is heated slowly over several hours, allowing the smoke to fill the room and gently warm the large stone stove. Once the heating is complete, the smoke is let out and the sauna is ready. What remains is something special: soft, deep, long-lasting steam (“löyly”) that feels smooth and relaxing.

Just a few steps from the sauna, a clear forest pond awaits. Swimming here is a bliss! In winter, the experience becomes unforgettable: with water temperatures around +2°C, even a brief dip in the icy pond leaves you feeling awake and energized.

Next to the sauna building, a large wooden terrace offers space to cool down while listen to the nature sounds between sauna rounds. There is no schedule to follow here.

Some practical information: The smoke sauna is reserved exclusively for your group, offering a private and unhurried experience. There are separate dressing rooms for men and women, while the sauna itself and the outdoor cooling areas are shared within your group. Swimwear is required. Please note that there are no showers. A small amount of washing water is provided, and swimming in the forest pond is the primary way to cool off and rinse. There is an outdoor toilet available near the sauna area.

- 550 € per group. The price includes the private sauna expence, towels and non-alcoholic sauna drinks. A local sauna guide provided by Kalajoki 360° will introduce you to the Finnish sauna culture and (winter) swimming, and to the story of Linnakallio.
