Sarviniemi is a unique and stunning destination in the middle of Suur-Saimaa. Suuri Sarviniemi and Pieni Sarviniemi capes are part of the Second Salpausselkä ice marginal formation. They were deposited in front of the ice sheet at the end of the last ice age around 11 800 years ago. The site is a perfect day trip destination, but camping there is not allowed.
