The museum is operating one of the oldest buildings in Kalajoki, called Törnvall's old house. The yellow wooden house was transferred to its current location in Siltasaari from the townhall yard in 1964. This traditional Ostrobothnian building has a vivid history and it has hosted the Awakening meeting of 1838. The house has been owned by the municipality since 1930s and has since then served as a maternity and child health clinic and later as the library. The museum illustrates life in the old days, as well as some of the famous people from Kalajoki.
There is no set entrance fee, but the visitors are welcome to a volontary payment.
