A snowshoeing tour in Koli’s winter darkness reveals the forest’s quiet, magical side. On a clear night, we pause to admire the starry sky — and perhaps even the Northern Lights. The tour begins at the Nature Center Ukko and proceeds calmly through the landscapes of Koli’s peaks. A wilderness guide shares stories about Koli’s nature and history as we take in the atmosphere of the winter night. No prior experience is needed; stable snowshoes, poles when needed, and a powerful headlamp are provided. The route includes elevation changes and offers an enjoyable, adventurous winter outing. The tour starts after the sun has set.
