Experience Food from Finland, naturally

Innovative use of natural ingredients in the Nordic cuisine and a laid-back atmosphere are what our food culture is all about. Right now Finland has one of the most vibrant food scenes in Europe. We also have a number of food events and festivals just waiting for your visit! When it comes to ingredients and recipes, each region has its own delicious character. We are passionate about our food and we know how to celebrate it.

Finland is a haven of clean and naturally nutrient rich food. The long summer days and cool temperatures enhance the aromas and pigments in wild berries. In addition to Finland’s northern location, the real benefits of the Finnish wild berry are clean soil, clean air and clean water. The unique aroma and the beautiful colours are produced by flavonoids and other polyphenols. Finns scour their vast forests for these delicious treasures along with tasty mushrooms and fresh wild herbs.

Authentically local

There is an exciting renaissance in craft brewing and distilling around the world and Finns are making a name for themselves with their own local brands. Small batch artisanal breweries and distilleries are a natural compliment to the Slow Food Movement, which aims to preserve regional culinary traditions. Having never lost its connection to the past or its pioneering spirit, Finland is well positioned to produce unique products that evoke both nostalgia and a sense of adventure.

Finlandia Hall and Tampere Hall started using solar energy

Last year, solar panels were installed on the roof of congress and event centre Finlandia Hall. Finlandia Hall is among the first event centres in Europe to utilise solar energy for the energy needed in the premises. The decision to install solar panels is in line with Finlandia Hall’s long-term strategy to invest in energy efficiency and environmentally friendly actions.

A 48.76-kWp solar power plant with 184 solar panels was built on the roof of Tampere Hall's extension in the summer. Making use of solar power is the natural next step in Tampere Hall's tradition of sustainable solutions. "Tampere Hall is committed to being a pioneer in environmental issues. Building the solar power plant is an important step along this path: We want to make the future greener and our business more sustainable", explains Tampere Hall's Managing Director Paulina Ahokas.
