Between Earth and Sky

Sleeping on a trip doesn't always require a hotel, or even sturdy walls around the bed. Have you tried what it feels like to sleep in a tent hung from a tree?

A Tent in a Tree

A Tentsile, or tree tent, is an ecological and experiential way to spend the night in the peace of the forest. In a tree tent, you float in the air and sleep like a bird in a nest. Come and try sleeping in a tree at the Salpalinja Museum. There are two pre-assembled Tentsiles for rent in our museum area. One Tentsile can accommodate three adults or two adults and two children. The Tentsiles are in use during the summer. Reservations are from 6 pm to 10 am.

Stay in the spirit of national defense

In the yard of the Salpalinja Museum, you can stay in a semi-team tent with your own accommodation equipment, which has been set up. The tent is primarily intended for overnight stays between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. During the cold season, the tent also has a stove, and firewood is included in the price.

Renting a semi-team tent costs €42/night.

For an additional fee, you can sleep a little "finer" in a camping bed, of which there are 6 for rent. Rent is €10/day/bed.

Available services

The museum area has a water point, a fire pit and a composting toilet. You can also reserve (in advance) the sauna and shower facilities for your use. There is also a washing machine with a dryer, ask the museum for more information about this and the sauna. The museum café services are available during museum opening hours. Also ask about reservations outside opening hours.
