The Lake Keselmäjärvi natural phenomena observation point is a great place to watch the northern lights and the midnight sun! Northern lights appear in Salla from mid-August to mid-April. You can even see the northern lights reflecting from the water in fall before the lake freezes. The midnight sun can be spotted in June-July.

The Keselmäjärvi observation point is accessible and can be reached for example with prams. In snow-free season you can park your car next to Keselmäjärvi beach, where the route to the little island starts.
