A statue of the world record for potato peeling.

In 1984, potatoes were peeled for a total of 1 218 hours, or 50 days. At the end of the project, more than 10 000 kilos of potatoes had been peeled. The event also made it into the Guinness Book of Records and the record has not been broken to this day.

It was decided to build a monument to commemorate the event. The monument, almost 4 m high, was made by local metal workshop, Alakortes.

The sculpture is still the largest potato peeling knife in the world.

The monument is located in the center of Isojoki.
