20:00 Arrival in Punkaharju and Hotelli Punkaharju, check in and dinner.
Hotelli Punkaharju (former Punkaharjun Valtionhotelli) is a boutique hotel in the national landscape of Saimaa, built in 1845. The hotel got new owners in January 2016, when Saimi Hoyer, Thomas Hoyer and Janne Leinonen bought the property and started an extensive repair and remodeling operation. The reformed Hotelli Punkaharju will open its doors on midsummer’s eve 2016. There are over 30 hotel rooms available to clients, and in two restaurants and bars, including the terraces, the maximum seating is around 200. The central theme of the new service concept is nature and closeness to it.

22:00 Short evening walk in the area – sun starts setting at 22.51 so we´ll have plenty of time!
Punkaharju has, thanks to the natural beauty of its landscape and scenery, been an internationally recognized tourist attraction for over two centuries. It’s one of Finland’s most beautiful national sceneries, and the scenic lake view from amidst the impressive pine trees is still the biggest draw of the area. Enjoying the landscapes of Punkaharju is easy thanks to marked routes and pathways crisscrossing the esker. Between the massive pine trees, you can see the Puruvesi and Pihlajavesi lakes glistening brightly in the sun, and it’s not hard to see why people are drawn to Punkaharju year after year.
