WHAT IS THE SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL FINLAND LABEL?
To help the tourism industry in Finland to adopt sustainable practices, Visit Finland has developed the Sustainable Travel Finland programme. The programme is designed for Finnish tourism companies and destinations to develop more sustainable practices.
The participants that have undergone the STF programme and fulfilled the criteria, get the Sustainable Travel Finland label. So, when you spot a destination or a company that has the Sustainable Travel Finland label, you know they take sustainability seriously. And don’t worry – the companies and destinations will also be audited regularly.

Salla Museum of War and Reconstruction
The museum’s permanent exhibition is a trip through time, from the beginning of the twentieth century to the 1960s, telling the history of Kuoloyarvi (Finnish: Kuolajärvi) i.e. Salla. The name of the municipality was changed to Salla in 1936. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the outdoor exhibition area of the museum can be visited, which highlights traditional livelihoods and the wartime, as well as local superstitions with the help of the Elfland tour. The Salla Museum has a café and museum shop. The Rajakievari tavern is located in the yard of the museum and it also functions as a venue for events and private bookings. The Rajakievari tavern exhibits tavern traditions and is also a space for changing exhibitions.
