Oulanka National Park winter rapids - private snowshoe walk

On the shore of Myllykoski you can see the Dipper diving into the freezing water and the snowy trees standing along the wavy whitewater. The snowshoe trail follows the riverbank and sometimes goes to the middle of the wintery forest. We'll see the frozen waterfall Jyrävä and the icy riverbanks of Aallokkokoski. We’ll have a campfire and a trail meal by the fire. With good luck, the Siberian Jays may come and greet us or we see otters playing on the riverbanks.

Your guide chooses the route and distance depending on current conditions. The route is moderately easy with some strairs and suitable for everyone who can walk the same distance. Depending on the weather conditions, chosen route and your wishes we walk with snowshoes or boots. If it is slippery, we have light crampons/spikes that you can use on your shoes.

Duration: 3-4 hours + transfers from Ruka 25+25min
