"Dances of Life and Death" concerts

The piano duo Tiina Karakorpi and Emil Holmström will arrive in Kittilä in September to perform two "Dances of Life and Death" concerts, which are part of the Hiljaisuuden vieraana concert series. The concerts are organized in the Atelier of the Särestöniemi Museum, and they offer a profound musical experience on the themes of life, death and rebirth. The concert program includes Franz Liszt's legendary "Totentanz", Igor Stravinsky's shaking "Spring Sacrifice" and touching compositions by Outi Tarkiainen and Helvi Leiviskä. Karakorpi and Holmström perform the works as four-hand piano arrangements, bringing out the essence of the compositions and dealing with big existential questions.
