Explore the autumn in the Jyväskylä the City of Culture

Embark on an international art adventure! At the Craft Museum of Finland, the Piri Blue and Other Colours (13 Sept – 7 Dec 2025) dazzles with the multifaceted design career of Markku Piri, celebrating colour, materials, and the touch of hands. Just a few steps away, the Jyväskylä Art Museum hosts the international art graphics triennial Graphica Creativa – Dreaming Is Seeing (20 Sept 2025 – 11 Jan 2026), inviting you into the world of dreams, imagination, and interdisciplinary art. Or take a journey to the past at the Craftmen’s Houses and experience the everyday life of a 19th-century craftsman.


Jyväskylä Sinfonia celebrates its 70th anniversary this autumn with a rich variety of concerts. Guest conductors include Rumon Gamba, Janne Valkeajoki, and Nick Davies. Among the soloists are flutist Janne Thomsen, saxophonist Jukka Perko, and cellist Tuomas Lehto. In October, enjoy beloved melodies by Kaj Chydenius and experience the chilling horror classic movie Nosferatu on the big screen with live music by the symphony orchestra. Head toward unforgettable experiences and step into the Jyväskylä City Theatre! The autumn season features a diverse theatre plays: the musical Rakkauden viisi vuotta (The Last Five Years), radiating the atmosphere of New York; the joyful family musical Peppi Pitkätossu (Pippi Longstocking); the intense contemporary drama Kato mua kun mä puhun sulle (Look at Me When I’m Talking to You); and theatre legend Juha Hurme’s interpretation of Seitsemän veljestä (Seven Brothers).
