Väentalo
Built in the 1950s, Väentalo represents the characteristic Finnish “seurantalot” community hall architecture of its time. Constructed largely through volunteer effort and later expanded, the Väentalo has been a cornerstone of Konnevesi’s community life for over half a century — hosting dances, meetings, theatre performances and family celebrations.
The hall offers spacious and flexible facilities for a wide range of events. It features a large banquet hall with a stage, a well-equipped kitchen, meeting and lounge areas, and a generous outdoor yard suitable for summer activities and social gatherings. The venue can accommodate several hundred people, is fully accessible, and has ample parking. The Väentalo is also licensed for serving alcohol.
Over the years, Väentalo has been the setting for countless events — from weddings and community celebrations to the popular Kantatie 69 dance evenings and civic courses held by the local adult education centre. Its traditional red wooden exterior and carefully maintained interior preserve the nostalgic charm of Finnish village halls while serving the needs of today’s visitors.
Konnevesi Väentalo is more than a venue — it is the heart of the community, a place where generations have come together to celebrate, connect and keep the local spirit alive.
