Haukkavuori

Haukkavuori, which rises 80 m above Sarajärvi, is the highest point of South Karelia and a well-known natural site. It is located about 14 km from road 6 and Simpele. You can reach the top by climbing the path for about 800 m. There is also a demanding 3 km long nature trail from the top of the mountain. At the foot of the mountain there is a small parking lot, a canopy for eating snack and a dry toilet.

The border of the kingdom has sometimes passed through Haukkavuori. At the top of the mountain, there is a landmark of the Uusikaupunki Peace (1721) carved in stone.
