Puumalansalmi is one of the main waterways of Lake Saimaa, and the fourth longest road bridge in Finland has been built to cross it. The bridge is almost 800 m long and its deck is 31 m above the surface of Lake Saimaa. The bridge has a scenic lift and a scenic café located on the upper station on the bridge deck.
