In Anni’s Time – Tradition and Food Culture Event
In Anni’s Time is a family-friendly event celebrating traditional and food cultures, bringing to life the skills, local produce, and resourcefulness of past everyday life. Set in historical environments, the event highlights how people of earlier times utilized the forest, fields, and waters, preserved and substituted ingredients, and built self-sufficiency under scarce conditions.
The program features live demonstrations, presentations of traditional foods and ingredients, encounters with experts in natural products and crafts, as well as storytelling segments. Food culture is presented as an integral part of a holistic lifestyle—emphasizing community, practical wisdom, and a sustainable relationship with nature.
The concept was developed at Venejoki Mill and can be adapted to different locations and venues. As a new cultural tourism product, In Anni’s Time will be available in summer 2026. It functions both as a public event and as a content-driven attraction for food and cultural tourism, supporting local small businesses and bringing cultural heritage to life for contemporary audiences.
