Finding your Finnish roots

Heritage from the myths of Kalevala can be turn into wonderful venues for meetings or dinners. In the nature you can follow the footsteps of the ancient Finn with wonderful activities organized by experienced event teams. Day can end in the purifying rituals in sauna.

Finland as part of Kingdom of Sweden can be cherished for example at the Sea Fortress in front of Helsinki. This wonderful group of islands can be used for team building activities or banquets. FINNAIR BOOSTS FLIGHTS TO LAPLAND

Finnair and the biggest tour operators in Lapland have agreed a three-year cooperation arrangement for flights to Lapland as well as cooperation in marketing. Finnair will significantly add to its Lapland flight schedule in November 2014 with the start of the winter traffic season.

The number of flights especially from Helsinki to Kittilä, Ivalo and Kuusamo will increase. Timetables have been drawn up to provide good connections on the routes between Lapland and destinations in Europe and Asia via Helsinki.

Tornihotelli

NEW HOTEL IN TAMPERE COMBINES NEW AND OLD

Tornihotelli (Tower hotel) in Tampere will be opened in October 2014 for the public, and right now it's the highest hotel project in process. The hotel will be built to be a part of the 140-year-old locomotive hall. The new hotel will have over 300 rooms and meeting and conference facilities. More information will follow.

Scandic Park Hotel

SCANDIC CONTINENTAL’S NEW NAME IS SCANDIC PARK HOTEL 

The extensive renewal of Scandic Continental hotel, situated near the Helsinki city centre, has reached a stage where the hotel is opening half of its rooms with a completely new look. The hotel will also change its name to Scandic Park. The renovation of the biggest hotel in Finland will be complete by the beginning of 2015.

NEW MARRIOT HOTEL NEXT TO TAMPERE HALL

The City of Tampere is planning and building of a new hotel adjacent to Congress and Concert Centre Tampere Hall. Hotel operator will be Marriot International Inc. Opening year of this 170 room hotel will be 2017.

Meripaviljonki

MERIPAVILJONKI RESTAURANT WILL OPEN IN APRIL 2015

The beginning of 2015 will see the completion of a unique floating restaurant, Meripaviljonki ('sea pavilion') on Eläintarhalahti. The new restaurant will be located in front of Graniittilinna restaurant and connected to Paasitorni congress centre. Meripaviljonki will open to customers on 8 April 2015. Group reservations for the whole restaurant will be accepted from 12 May 2014 onwards. The floating restaurant Meripaviljonki is an excellent addition to the full service package of Paasitorni, whose five unique restaurants will form one of the largest restaurant complexes in Finland.

Hotel Haven

FOURTH HOTEL CONTRACT SIGNED, NEW HOTEL TO OPEN TO THE PROXIMITY OF THE ESPLANADE IN 2016 

Royal Restaurants continues its strong growth in the hotel field. In addition to the two recently revealed hotel projects, the company has signed a contract for a hotel to be built in Fabianinkatu 6. The new hotel is planned to open in early 2016 and it will include 70 rooms as well as restaurant, gym and meeting facilities. Previously, March 2015, will open Hotel Lilla Roberts in downtown Helsinki. Hotel Haven will have its enlargement on its way.

“The market share of non-chain hotels will grow rapidly in the coming years and Helsinki’s attractiveness as a travel destination will increase,” states CEO Kasperi Saari. “The new hotel will offer an excellent option for travelers at a very central location.”
