Private Gold Panning Lesson at Gold Museum in Tankavaara

A brief introduction to gold panning for beginners!

Join us on the Finnish goldfields! At the Gold Museum’s gold panning basin, our guide teaches you how to find gold using a traditional Finnish gold pan. While you see and experience how gold stays under the sand at the bottom of the pan, you will hear interesting stories from the goldfields. At the end of the lesson, your gold haul is collected and you’ll be a nugget richer!

Gold panning lesson are held at the museum’s indoor gold panning basin, so the program can be organized regardless of the weather. All equipment is provided.
